From TikTok to New Horizons
I’m not the typical definition of a control freak, however, I am definitely a fan of routine so when things get shaken up, it takes me a moment to adapt.
That is what I and millions of others are going through right now with TikTok getting banned in the US.
I’ll admit that I am going to miss TikTok. I learned so much over there, I was entertained I laughed a lot, I met other goofy people, and I started Green Light Guidance.
Sometimes, however, a break in your routine is exactly what you need. It is so easy to get comfortable and complacent in our routines, and that comfort could be holding us back.
That’s how I’m feeling right now about TikTok. As the ban has been getting closer I have branched out and signed up to other social media sites like Substack, Bluesky and YouTube.
I have not been a big social media person until I found TikTok, where I spent a lot of time. Now I am being forced to use other social medial sites, and even though I complain about it, it is actually a good thing.
I have learned that I have to view things differently for Green Light Guidance than I do for my personal stuff. Spreading out is a great thing for my business, and, since I share a lot of personal stuff in my business, it is great personally for me too.
This change has made me take a deeper look at my business; how I want to be out in the world, how I want to share all my offerings, where I want my business to go from here, and so much more.
While I am personally extremely saddened by the TikTok ban, on a business level I am so grateful for it helping me to expand and offer me the opportunity to help so many more women grow in self love.
So, I will adapt and am excited to see what’s to come, and am grateful to all of you who jump on this ride with me.
With much love,
Cheryl
